Seminars
We are offering sessions on a variety of
subjects relating to the operation and use of home computers; the
following are currently offered:
"Introduction to your computer" - a basic review of the features and
components, how to select, use & manage them. This session looks at
both the hardware & software components and the related functions.
"Using your computer" -
more information on the functions available to you and how to apply
them. Includes information on the features included in the operating system,
principles of file organisation & preservation and of word
processing. |
"Using your computer with your camera" -
how to transfer and
organise your images, and make the most of some basic editing
programs. What you need, & how to use the tools for display & printing; and
some of the options for saving pictures and sending them to others.
"Using the
Internet" - things everyone should be aware of before using
the Internet, how to safely search the 'net, how to use e-mail, and
a review of the various security issues.
"Other uses for the computer at home" -
A quick overview of some 'special' applications which may be of
interest. Subjects may include: home theatre; audio & video
recording - capturing from your old tapes & records; "The Automated
Home" - security monitoring, energy conservation, etc. Specific
applications will be discussed according to the attendees interests.

We also offer training on specific software,
including the components of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint & Publisher (also intros to FrontPage, Access); Corel
Office- Word Perfect, etc.; CorelDraw; Adobe Photoshop; etc.
